Uninstalling Norton Ghost

Norton Ghost allows you to schedule times that a disk image of your hard drive is created, not as you make changes to your files or programs. Limited to how much space you allocate. Can copy to CD or DVD.

The good and the bad news is that this image is in your boot record.

Norton Ghost CANNOT be uninstalled by ANY software utility.

However, we can offer you Norton Ghost Support if you want to remove it.

No, not even the Uninstall-Norton uninstaller will uninstall Norton Ghost. Norton Ghost attaches itself to the master files of your Windows operating system. Windows does not allow any program to be uninstalled while it is running. By definition, if a program is attached to any of the Windows master files, it is running.

So Norton Ghost cannot be uninstalled unless this can be bypassed. It takes the skill of a qualified technician to Uninstall Norton Ghost....and very few know how to do it.

If Your Technician Says You Have To Reformat Your Hard Drive To Get Rid Of Norton Ghost..... S/He is WRONG!

Thanks for the help getting Karen's machine settled with the Norton Uninstaller.

I had used the Vista program uninstaller and then used this program and there were several more files and entrys under Norton and Symantec that I was able to eliminate.
