If you download Norton Internet Security to upgrade Norton Internet Security, you most likely will need to uninstall or remove it first.

This is because Norton products often see it's own upgrades as a threat to the current system sees as a threat and will block your attempt to try to upgrade Norton Internet Security.

And using the Norton Uninstaller or the Windows Add/Remove feature leaves behind as many as 1,800 files and registry entries.

The same is true if you wish to REMOVE NORTON INTERNET SECURITY. The remnants left behind will block or interfere with the install of your new security system.

Using Uninstall Norton will give you a clean install = a much better experience.

Thanks for the help getting Karen's machine settled with the Norton Uninstaller.

I had used the Vista program uninstaller and then used this program and there were several more files and entrys under Norton and Symantec that I was able to eliminate.
